Egg
Egg may be President Biden and his family’s favorite breakfast place, and, as a result of the notoriety, the favorite breakfast place of local tourists, but we are not as impressed. A farmhouse approach to breakfast and brunch dining, Egg has a unique menu, offering creative spins on classic breakfast and brunch sandwiches leaning towards . . . eggs, but also offers the usual diner breakfast fare. Bacon 'candy’ is a signature warm-up or side, presenting crispy bacon strips with carmelized srirachachu — interesting at the first bite, but make sure you have dental floss and your cardiologist on the ready — both may be needed depending upon your consumption. Service at the indoor-outdoor restaurant located west of the Rehoboth Avenue bustle is brisk and friendly and, indeed, knowledgeable, at least when it comes to ingredients and choices. Catching the Bidens dining at Egg is more likely now that 46 has left the Whitehouse, even though it used to depend upon what may be going on in the world on any given weekend. What should be going on in your world is a visit to Egg for at least one vacation breakfast because, well, everyone else wants to chance celebrity. But be prepared to wait, because Egg takes no reservations, and on summer weekends, you may need to roam the Rehoboth Museum across the street for an hour or so before your number is texted. Egg is not eggcellent, but is a fun expression of creative breakfast dishes that are unique enough to at least brave the wait for the experience.
