A Rehoboth Beach mainstay for decades, Eden has earned a reputation of being consistent in its cooking, not too conservative and not too adventurous, even with specials. Eden’s often-changing menu leans toward coastal classics with adequate sides, but throws in an antelope tenderloin and a popular chicken breast, with just the right amount of herbs and flavoring.  Eden’s grilled Caesar salad, a simple dish in delivery that is relatively hard to prepare correctly, is a surprise hit, along with a curious goat cheese pasta that has become a well-ordered classic.  Fish and beef are the menu holdovers, prepared in traditional ways and often paired with wine from a very extensive menu reflecting various regions and price points to satisfy every budget.  Eden’s floor ambiance is muted and reserved, leaning towards romantic, and the crowd skews mature, especially given the price points and menu selections.  Eden is not the typical Delmarva coastal themed restaurant, and its décor and styling render it comfortable in any suburban neighborhood, which makes it appealing to many not looking for the fuss-and-bustle of more popular Baltimore Ave. restaurants that tend to open and close as consumer preferences change with reputational trends.  Eden’s longevity is a testament to steady cooking and service, which it delivers without much buzz or attention, except from those looking for more traditional high-end meals or its frequent wine tasting series.
