Thrasher’s French Fries

Anyone can purchase Idaho No. 2 potatoes, slice them into French fry lengths, and cook the potatoes in peanut oil.  So, why does Thrashers, which offers only take-out fries, taste the best?  Somehow, the outside part of the fries is always crispy, and the inside fluffy, salted and malted the way you want.  Many restaurants offer ‘boardwalk fries,’ but only Thrasher’s actually delivers, and they are the best in Delmarva, perhaps anywhere.  Grab a bucket and a friend, but remember, they are addicting, so make sure you leave room for a gym visit the next day along with a bucket of water, which no doubt will be needed to quench your sodium-induced day-long thirst.  Oh, and ignore those who say Thrasher’s along the Ocean City boardwalk is better; the location is far away and you risk lower O.C. flocks of seagulls snatching the fries from your bucket or dive bombing you with excrement, the boardwalk stains of which are well-known to the southern amusement park end of the O.C. Boardwalk.  Hard to believe Thrasher’s — a French fry joint manned by non-trained high school and college hourly rate workers — warrants four stars in a region beaming with high-end restaurants and seasoned chefs, but the Delmarva Foodie Elitist is intellectually honest with its critical reviews, and nobody does fries better.  Thrasher’s is the best at what it does, and has earned its place among the best of Delmarva, that is, for fries, of course.
