Open Thursday through Monday only from 5:00 – 9:00, Confucius occupies a surprisingly narrow position in Rehoboth Beach: the only non-strip mall Chinese restaurant in town.  Standard Chinese staples abound, all cooked authentically (but American style), especially Peking Duck, Crispy Halibut, Cumin Beef, and Salt & Pepper (everything) dishes.  Big city Chinese cuisine-eating veterans will find Confucius average, but for Delmarva, it is about as authentic as any other local competitor, slipping in Singapore-style dishes as well, rendering Confucius also a quasi-Asian fusion option.  Beware the menu prices, so best to pay attention to what you order to avoid sticker shock, especially when utilizing its popular take-out service.  The restaurant is small and broken into front-and-back dining, but when Chinese food is what you crave, there are not a lot of Delmarva beach options, and Confucius more than meets the moment.
