The Dewey Post

For such a small beach town (one mile long, three blocks wide) that is nationally recognized for its summer season partying and revelry, Dewey Beach offers a surprising roster of good but casual restaurants.  Enter in 2022, The Dewey Post, a breakfast and lunch casual dining spot that offers among the most innovative and tasty breakfast options, sandwiches, and baked goods, all with efficient and smiling service.  There may not be a better lox sandwich or platter in the 302 area code, and the Jammy Egg will soon capture legendary status among breakfast aficionados.  Waffle Cristo, BLTA, and Apple Pie French Toast give you only a sampling of the curious ingredient and quality food emanating from the kitchen that serves indoor and outdoor seating, flip-flops and dogs welcome.  Only open until 2:00pm, Dewey Post has since its founding attracted a large repeat local audience and growing tourist  acclaim, if you can find parking in the notoriously difficult-to-park south end of Dewey Beach.  But making your driving laps and waiting for an open sport are worth it to try Dewey Post, as are the often long summer weekend lines to be seated.  Dewey Post recently acquired Baked in Dewey Beach, now offering among the best baked goods that either compliment your breakfast or serve as it because the variety is hard to ignore.  Dewey Post has something for every stingy breakfast and lunch eater, and all of it interesting and good, especially anything frittata.  Many of the sandwiches are available on toasted croissants, giving them special appeal (and calories), but rendering the lunch memorable and curious how chef manages to cling the meats, vegetables, and fruits to the starch – as much sandwich building and engineering magic, as is the taste.  Sample the menu and share so that the everyone can enjoy the curiously good lunch items, staple breakfast orders with hints of originality in all of the selections, and engaging cooking.  The Dewey Post’s cute and inviting space has been many restaurants over the years, but no doubt will become a near permanent fixture at its present location, or any other spot It prefers to take further root.  Here’s hoping that Dewey Post expands north and south, training the same service team to staff the satellite locations, among the best at the beach.
