Sammy’s Kitchen
For 25+ years, Sammy’s Kitchen, located in the Brighton Suites Hotel one block from the beach, has been serving fast-casual, better-than-diner style food to breakfast and lunch patrons, and those who prefer early dinners while not enjoying an expense account. Breakfast staples include pancakes, waffles, blintzes (yes, the only Rehoboth Beach restaurant to serve authentic blintzes), French toast, and every egg combination you can envision. Breakfast is served for lunch, and lunch for dinner, featuring sandwiches, soups, salads, burgers and chicken, and even seafood dishes, though most stay with the burgers and sandwiches. Sammy’s menu tends towards diner style, and the food, prepared for decades by the same original chef, is good and bountiful, especially for the price. The real star at Sammy’s however, may be the ice cream. A family favorite for years and open late during the summer season, Sammy’s has all sorts of Hershey’s favorites, including some of the largest and best sundaes in town, a great place to enjoy ice cream not from the boardwalk, especially because you can sit with the family or while on a date, and watch the crowds stroll by on a summer evening. Sammy’s embraces what it is – a non-greasy spoon diner in the middle of Rehoboth Beach, with large quantities of decent food at fair prices, served promptly and efficiently, and always with a smile. With so many three-and-four-star restaurant neighbors, Sammy’s is a welcome respite to your wallet but not while sacrificing fast casual quality food.
