Red Square Caviar Bar

Dating from the late 15th Century, Moscow’s Red Square adjoins the historic fortress known as the Kremlin (yes, that Kremlin), and serves as the focal point of Russian social and political history, the largest and most well-known square of its type in world history.  While the same cannot be said of Rehoboth’s Red Square Caviar Bar, a regular on the beach strip since 2001, still, it is important in its own way, offering an inspiring romantic atmosphere and casual dining elegance to indulge in caviar of many types enjoyed with what the owners claim is the largest vodka selection in the country.  That may be true, giving new meaning to the traditional ‘Martini Bar’ in a sleepy nondescript themed local restaurant.  But Red Square, both the restaurant and the one complicating centuries of Russian history, is more than just a place to enjoy caviar and drink – its dinner menu is straight out of a Russian or Ukrainian village, including beef stroganoff, chicken Kiev, kulbiaka, satsivy, pelmeni, and other traditional Slavic dishes.  Where else in Delmarva can you enjoy authentic borsch?  Red Square offers several types of caviar at different price points, so experiment at your leisure, enjoying perhaps the only place in Delmarva offering such a dedicated-cuisine menu.  And the food and service are excellent, with the local owners greeting and feeding you with delight and a warm smile.  The ambiance, including reproductions of original Russian works from museums in Moscow and St. Petersburg, transforms you to the original Red Square, if only for a few moments until you emerge from the door with Rehoboth Ave. welcoming you back to the States.
